YAO Junchen

Dr. Junchen Yao, researcher, is currently the Secretary General of the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics(CSAA). He majored in medal materials and thermal treatment and gained his master degree from Beihang University (BUAA) in 1988. During 2002-2006, he pursued his doctor degree at BUAA. Dr. Yao was Deputy Division Director at the Science and Technology Bureau of Aviation Industries of China. He later on took the duties of Deputy Director at the Science and Technology Department of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China 1(AVIC 1), Director at the Department of Scientific Research of AVIC Foundation Technology Research Institute, Director of the AVIC Changcheng Institute of Metrology & Measurement.

Dr. Yao has been tracking the frontier of aeronautical materials during his position with AVIC headquarters. He has chaired and participated in quite a few key projects. He has rich experience in management and knowledge in aeronautical systems and development. Five of his publications are indexed by EI. Besides, he published the 11th Five- Year Plan for Aeronautical Science Foundation.
